Department office (Recreation Center at Hillside), or by clicking on the
link to the right. Complete the application by filling out all required
areas. If an area of the application does not apply, please indicate by
placing n/a not applicable) in the space provided.

highlight special skills or training not covered on the application

Interviews
All applications will be reviewed. Applicants will be selected for an
interview on the basis of education, skills and experience. Not all
applicants are selected for an interview. You will be contacted by
telephone if you are selected to receive an interview.

RECREATION PROGRAM SPECIALIST
ADULT ENRICHMENT/SENIOR SERVICES (part-time 30 hours per week)
Since 1986, the Parks and Recreation Department has provided senior
citizen programs and services to the residents of the City of
Northville, the Charter Township of Northville and the Northville Public
School District. Approximately 36,000 residents live within the
Northville community service area. As the population of the Northville
community begins to age, Northville residents remain active and engaged
in healthy lifestyle options that promote wellness, create a sense of
community and desire for lifelong learning. Adult Enrichment programs
and services offered by the Parks and Recreation Department include
lectures, social activities, trips, and volunteer opportunities. Due to
reduced budget allocations, the position will coordinate both areas of
programming.

Aquatic
Positions
Lifeguard - available to work days, evenings and weekends. Must
have current American Red Cross Lifeguard, CPR-PR Certifications. Must
be 15 years of age or older. Starting wage is $7/hour with current
lifeguard & CPR-PR certifications.
Substitute Water Fitness Instructor - available to work evenings and
weekends. Position requires an experienced, well-trained professional to
teach a wide range of classes.
Swim Instructor - available to work days, evenings and weekends.
Position will be teaching all swimming abilities, group and private
lessons. Water Safety Instructor certification or 6 months
teaching experience is preferred.
Head Lifeguard - available to work days, evenings and weekends.
Must be 18 years of age. Must have current American Red Cross
Lifeguard, CPR-PR & Water Safety instructor Certifications. Must
show good leadership skills & prefer previous headguard/manager
experience.
